Christoph Doppelbauer studied law (graduated as a Mag. iur. in 1995) and business administration (graduated as a Mag. rer. soc. oec. in 1997) at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria. He also studied law at New York University, USA, from where he graduated as a Master of Laws (LL.M. (NYU)) in 1998.

Christoph Doppelbauer has been a lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) since 2002. In 2004 he took a course in the law on tax offences at the Austrian Academy of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers (Akademie der Wirtschaftstreuhänder), i.e. he is an expert in the law governing tax offences.
